king kusaila

king kusaila is my laptop, operated by voice. One shortcut gives me system-wide dictation in any window, and another one opens a voice mission, where I describe what I want done and an agent takes the machine from there, end to end, while I go do something else.

I built it because I wanted to know what it feels like when the computer actually listens, instead of waiting for someone to sell that feeling to me. It is named after Kusaila, the Amazigh king who resisted an empire, which felt about right.
